As the global demand for increased marine infrastructure continues into the foreseeable future, maritime archaeology serves an important role in detecting and identifying submerged cultural heritage as part of those projects. Our job is to ensure all cultural materials within areas of potential effect are protected from all manmade activities that may place them at risk. We offer a variety of services to clients engaged in projects which may potentially affect submerged cultural resources. 

We provide the following On Water Services:

Marine Remote Sensing Surveys

We specialize in marine remote sensing surveys which utilize the best acoustic and magenetic detection and imaging systems in the industry such as side scan sonar (SSS), sub-bottom profilers (SBP), multibeam echo sounders (MBES), marine magnetometers, transverse gradiometers (TVG), ultra-short baseline ranging (USBL), and many more. In addition to these instruments, all acquired data is georeferenced using differential-grade global positioning (DGPS) or a real-time network of virtual reference stations (RTN/VRS). 

Data Processing and Interpretation

This service is provided on both land and water. In the event a client needs data processing and/or interpretation performed onboard a survey vessel, we can perform this service while the vessel is underway for rapid turnaround and archaeological clearance.

Archaeological Monitoring

As required by federal and state regulations concerning underwater cultural heritage, an archaeologist may be required to be on site to monitor all construction activities. We offer this service assist the client in making informed decisions in the event submerged cultual materials are discovered or located in close proximity to the work site.

UAS Drone Survey

This is a newer service we offer and one that is seeing increased use for hydrographic surveying throughout the world. The use of drone operations for nearshore and offshore applications is ideal for reconnaissance, surveys, and inspections.
